Thanks Sharon. It took me a long time to get started but in four years I have went from one pair in 2012 to 45 pair this year. I really had 47 nests with at least one egg in them but I know two nests with one egg was never set on so I didn't count them two. Good luck next year. Dave

How many years did it take you Dave? Did you move your poles or remove any trees? Or did you just wait it out. I guess what I am trying to ask is what changed from the first yr. you tried to get martins to when you actually did get them?

I have moved mine several times, but I can not get any further away from trees. I just whacked another tree in the front yard. It was a soft maple. I have 2 to go. Just have to see what happens next spring. Thanks and good luck

Sharon I did a lot of different things over the years before I got Birds. I wrote all about my road to success in the winter 2015 Purple Martin Update. Once I got into the second year with 14 pair I caught fire this year. I hope to get up to about 60 to 70 pair and then stay around that. It's been a dream come true. I never thought I would have 45 pair this year. The sky has been full of Martins and the people around here just love my colony. Dave
