I'm a second yr. Landlord. 2pair arrived on March 24th,took up residence&started nest building in early April. my last nest check was the 1st of May& each pair had laid 2 eggs I left town untill June2nd& they were actively feeding their young.Today 1 batch fledged&I'm sure the next one won't be far behind.Anyway from what I've learned on this forum, my birds were right on the expected timeline.I have a 6 compartment wood house& 8 plastic gourds. Last year they preferred the gourds, this year the house. Hopefully next year I can fill up all the rooms. I posted this as just general info.

So glad you are having success with all the horrible weather we have had here in North Texas. We are first year landlords near Royse City in Rockwall County and have one breeding pair with three eggs laid (so far) this week. Good luck!!

Thanks for your reply.I wasn't here during the weather events of May. My setups are mounted on 4x4 treated posts&handle the wind quite well.Besides my nesting pairs,l have about 10 others that hangout all day. They never roost or enter the cavities. Another forum member suggested they may be earlier fledged birds that r checking out future nesting sites. I hope so. I've been home for a week now& they hang here from dawn to dusk. I like the show but wonder why they are doing this.
