Hey Tony,

Thanks for sharing that great news with us! I know you had been a "little anxious" about the return of your purple martins, but the first ones have now arrived home!

We will be looking forward to more updates about your great martin colony!

Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.

Fantastic news, Tony! Finally lovely weather the next few days for you to enjoy them too. Not that you wouldn't just layer up and be outside with them if it were cruddy.

I'm still a watchin.....and a waitin.... :)

Dan,
I had to look up Wakarusa. Never heard of that. Wikipedia says there are two unincorporated such places although one has a zip code and post office. Are you more near Topeka or more near Lawrence?

I see you are almost to the super colony numbers too! Nice.

Wakarusa - not much there, does have a post office.
7 already, my first (ASYM) showed up Saturday.
I see Deb has reported one too.

Everybody has seven. I don't even see the one I reported. Maybe he will lead in seven and I will have eight!
