I live in Katy, TX, just outside Houston. We have two houses. The Martins are usually gone by now, but we have hundreds on the power lines and on the houses! What is up?! I love for them to stay but just wondering if anyone knows why they are all collecting here. Please give me your thoughts. Thank you!

From reading other posts, I guess my house has become a "roosting event". I don't know alot about my birds, although we have had them for at least the past 15 years. I should have called the news media so more people could enjoy them. We live off 1-10 behind Champion Ford so they have a wide open space. They can be seen behind Champion Ford, the used car section. You cant miss em!

Martin Colony History: Had my site up to 22 gourds of which most (+/-3) stayed occupied.
Downsized to 17 gourds due to back surgeries. Had 14 families in 2017 but did not do nest checks due to health. Feeling better in 2018 and hoping for a good year.

Katylady....

You are so fortunate! Please enjoy for me too.
