Nice pix, and great variety! Congrats on having some martins!
I know many of us have speculated on the cause of death for the martin in the house compartment- If he looks like head wound Harry, he was most likely killed by a Starling. You really should consider getting some crescent or excluder entrances on that house before it happens again. The extra expense is worth it to give you peace of mind. My aunt used to tell me that her martins raised 2 broods...
... But she had round holes, 6x6 compartments, and no predator guard in a starling infested area... What conclusions can we make? Lots! And so the SREH entrances effectively eliminate ONE of the possible scenarios. Snakes and Owls are a whole 'nuther topic.

Yes, we do post our tragedies here from time to time. It's kinda like Martin CSI. You may want to put a disclaimer in the subject line, like *Graphic* Murdered Martin or something.
