Notice some of my posting friends are getting weary, please don't throw in the towel. I threatened to do that trick myself many times. I waited and kept trying for years and it finally happened for me this year. I am more than thrilled, enjoy the show every day and makes my coffee in the mornings a real treat. The lawn mowing is much nicer now, as I mow the martins soar over and serenade with their beautiful songs. It will happen one day and Yes! I still have to deal with the sparrows, starlings, squirrels,
but the martins make every bit of the negatives seem like nothing. I refrain from climbing ladders anymore, but as best that I can determine seems to be at least five or six nesting pairs in one house and three in the other house.

Yes, Thanks Delma, I did not give up thanks to you and many others on this site. I had 1 pair this year after 4 years of waiting. My pair had 3 eggs, all 3 hatched and fledged last week. I love to watch my pair bring them home each evening. I so hope each one of us get Martins one day. You may have to change things but PLEASE NEVER GIVE UP.

Still waiting here at my home site. Next year will be year 9. I did get a persistent SY male for 10 days, and that's the best luck I've had so far. After this year's tease, I'm not giving up yet. Fortunately I have had the public/satellite martin sites to keep me busy!

Well, for some it is another Martin year winding down. With lots of lovely fledglings to watch and hear.
BUT for others, like us again, it is another year of frustration.
We have had a lone Male Subbie here for several days, off/ on all summer. He is here today but he does not stay. He never did get a female to stay with him. As I always say, well there is Next Year.
I am so very thankful for all the Other Purple Martin Landlords who
HAVE HAD A REALLY GREAT YEAR. THANKS TO YOUR EFFORTS the
rest of us who are still waiting , we all have a better chance of getting Martins at our homes.
