Would an sy pair hang out a lot or a little at an un-established site? It seems I only see them late afternoon and just before sunset. The male defends the gourd rack from other martins when they try to land. But I have not seen them enter a gourd yet. Am I just grasping at straws here or what??
Keep trying and keep your chin up, its easier to see the martins coming!!

Hi Annie
My sy pair were hanging around for almost a week and would just peer into the openings. Waited every evening for them to sleep in the house but they seemed to fly off just before dark. Then last nite they made a lot of noise and finally spent the nite. Saw them leave just after 5am this morning. Then about 7am they started bringing in nest material.
Hope it happens for you soon. Up north we still have till the end of June for them to start nesting.

Thank you Larry, I'm so glad to hear you have a nesting pair! I hope everything works out for your new couple. Keep us posted..
Maybe the pair that's been coming here just isn't ready to commit yet. Wishful thinking is all I have. Annie
