Such a surprise today when I went to my local bank. Four fledged young martins were on the telephone wires waiting to be fed by their parents. Just sat and watched. All I could think was "WOW" already fledgling. The babies in my gourds are only hitting two weeks old. Then it came to me my pair started later than the other local colonies. Still was a joy to see. Now I'm sure I will be seeing fledglings around town more and more as time goes by. Can't wait to see mine fledge the nest.

I've had 7 gourds fledge so far with 28 more to go over the next two to three weeks.
Getting kinda noisy AND busy around here in the mornings and evenings.

Won't bee too long until the Austin roost starts forming.
Cheers,
Joe

Our first nest just fledged - late, it's usually a lot of nests fledging around Memorial Day. Many more to follow, though.
