Well I have the North star house up, 4 troy ghords up and ready. I have the MP3 player playing Morning, noon and night with Morning chatter, daytime chatter and evening sones. I also got every male Spatrrow in the county but there have been no sighting as of yet. I have Bluebirds, ZTree Sparrows and Chimeny Swifts all around. Hummm Wish some 2nd year birds would find me soon. Let the summer begin!

Hang in their Nealbopper! I remember playing our cds every day, all day from the last two weeks of Jan to the beginning of March before our one adult male finally showed up. Drove my wife crazy! But she played a big part in it. Wishing you the very best!

I'm in the same boat as you, waiting...waiting. The great lakes still have floating ice here & there so things are cooler than normal. Very slow season.

Martin Colony History: Started trying in 2012 and still trying

Yup waiting is the pits, but it's nice to know you're not the only one doing it. Bring on the subbies, I am giving up on the adults. All they want to do is sleep over and move on. All this waiting does is teach you how to take care of the pests. Well I am almost an expert at that, I'm ready to learn how to take care of martins. How bout you guys?

You bet! I have no bullies at my place. They see me and take off! I'm ready for subbies big time. My houses have been up since March 10, almost two months! Just lookers at my place. Won't stay. last spring on May 10 had a subbie male come and stuck around for two weeks. he tried so hard to get a female to stay. he finally went with one and he left my house  so enlarged all compartments in houses and got some gourds so we'll see what happens. Good luck!!! :)

I'm being patient. Some on here have been trying for three times longer than me. Still, some bourbon, a good cigar and allot of luck would be nice. I have the first two covered. Hope the good Lord can help me out with the ladder.

Nealbopper- I'm up in Saginaw, and FINALLY saw my first SY swoop by yesterday. I'm hoping he returns (with friends) to start my first colony. Yup, its been frustrating, as I have a nice 8-room Coates all ready with pine needles set up inside each compartment. I'm playing Dawnsong each morning from 4:00-6:00.

Our challenge here is the dang HOSP. They seem too clever for the Deluxe Repeating Sparrow Trap I've set up .. caught and released Finches though.

Will let you know when Martins actually stay and roost here. :)
