I have not seen that martin for 5 days now. just went out and set up my stereo to play dawn song in the morning. Shut it off last week, not seen nothing since. I think it does get their attention whether they stay or not. We'll see, keep you updated.

Dang! I thought you had a keeper! Well we can cry together. I thought I had 2 pair, but nope, I'm back to just Mr. Romeo Lonelyheart. I am thinking that his glamour gal was not the pioneer type. He brings visitors over, but they don't stay. Maybe it's my Trendsetter mansion; just too different for the hillbilly birds in my area. IDK what they think!
Keep us posted, Sharon! "Beak Up", more birds are headed our way!

I hear you Sharon. I also want to turn the cd back on. Only problem is we are trying to attract Chimney Swifts to our Chimney Swift tower. That is the cd we are currently playing since the swifts are on their way back also. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we currently have a pair of Martins after so long. I wish more would come though.
This is year number two with the tower. you can see in this picture where I have a speaker mounted on the side.

It does not have to be played from a rack - I used to put CD player in upstairs window, facing the systems. Had a subbie male hovering right outside that window, too!

I'm a true believer in the songs whether it be The Dawn Song or the Chatter! Yesterday while in my backyard, I heard a strange bird call. I ran in to get my binoculars. When I came back the strange red bird flew all the way across the other side of what must be 5 acre lot behind our yard. I looked the bird up and there he was. A Summer Tanager! I played the song on the website via cell phone and the bird came back! He kept flying over me as I played my cell phone. My wife told me to stop teasing the poor bird so I did. I hope he is there later today! Point is, I am sold on the songs!

That's neat Jose, Yes it does brings all different kinds of birds. I believe I had a blue grosbeak. I looked it up and it had the brown wings and a blue large bird. I also swishing its tail back an forth. Wild turkeys have come to the dawn song to. I love your chimney.

one year I had one martin back. and I just happen to be on the deck with a cd player and bird cd with bird calls. I was messing with my bluebird making him think their was another male in my yard. he came so close to me and that cd player and you could tell he was just mad! I looked up and their went my one martin flying out and away into the field. so I switched it to the purple martin...... and boy did he do a 180 turn around and came right back. and I thought man that really does work. besides that one time I have never used the dawn song. but I can see how it could work. but be confusing once a bird is their. I am for using all tools to get the birds you want. good luck everyone that is trying.

Just sharing. It took us 6 years to finally get bats to move into our bat houses. After that long we figured it was not going to happen. On our anniversary day we were sitting in our loungers in the backyard celebrating our day looking out to our garden late in the evening and I saw something fall out of our bat house. We both took another look and more small items were falling out. BATS! We have BATS! We were so excited. We looked at each other lifting our wine glasses and said Happy Anniversary!
