It seems like there has been a big arrival of subadults here. Starting to see nests with eggs, which ties in with subadult arrival time. The season is running about 10-14 days behind our normal schedule, should be lots more eggs than there are, but they are getting more clutches underway daily.

Things are looking very lively! Landlords in TX and most of south can expect subadult arrivals to continue for 2-3 more weeks, for sure - then taper off.

They are still coming to FL, too. Keep starlings and house sparrows out, play the dawnsong, and hang in there. The map for FL subadults has 14 reports so far - usually there will be 25 or so. That does not mean there are not more subadult birds, just that many landlords do not report them - either don't know how to ID them, or don't take the time to report them.

It's unusual for new birds to arrive and nest in June in Florida, but I cannot forget the landlord who got her first nesting pair the last week in June - probably birds that lost their home, but it happened! Be ready for them, just in case.
