I put my gourd pole up yesterday evening late and had a couple of PM's checking it out early this morning. Also have about 7 pairs of sparrows that have been checking it out all day too. I guess I'm going to have to trap them since they are wary of me and my pellet rifle already.
My other pole with the house and gourds is up now and hopefully more PM's will come in today since it's warmed up and bugs are becoming active.
I've got to replace my housing and poles this year and I want something this time that is on a pulley system so I can raise and lower easily. Looking only for high quality equipment and I won't mind if it's a little pricey.
Any suggestions?

That looks very nice Louise. Am I reading it right that no gourds are included and have to be purchased separately?
Also, are the gourd holes round or is there an option for the SREH. I have used the SREH entrances since I started and have had no trouble with Starlings or the Crows that tried to get their heads into the gourds.

Yes, that is gourd rack only. There are some kit options too, here's one: http://shop.purplemartin.org/Gourd_Rack ... tails.aspx
All gourds have entrance options, round, crescent and some with Excluder or Conley II options.

I think I want to get a new gourd rack this year too, I will have to look at those. I am hoping that if I put up another rack we will have more martins want to stay with us this year!
