My Season is still going I have 3, 26 day olds from a renest, I live in Wisconsin and I hope the weather holds out, This is the longest that I ever had for any martins, I also have 3 pairs still hanging around, it seems like there waiting for the young birds to fledge, next week the weather is actually going to get warmer, highs in the 90's, this has been a weird summer up here I hope they make it, I managed to fledge 37 Martins this year, if the 3 fledge it will make 40 birds for me. Martin Colony History: 24 Super and Excluder Gourds on two gourd racks, all SREH. Full occupancy. My philosophy is to maximize fledge % with existing cavities rather than adding gourds to grow colony, thus providing opportunities for new colony expansion. Fledge over 100 nestlings yearly from 24 gourds. Band nestlings in cooperation with state university. 2019 Adendum: Reduced colony size to 12 gourds to focus on more intensive management regimen.

They should make it.I had quite a few fledge at 26/27 days this year, so there is no rush. With 3 nestlings, the parents have not been overwhelmed with keeping them fed, so the nestlings should be in good shape. Insects are still plentiful and, as you said, temperatures are still warm enough.

I have had daily visitors as they move south. Sounds like you had a good year.
