Been a few years since I raised any gourds and now I have about 10 beauties on the vine, but I have forgotten the best time for harvesting. Seems they have to be brown and moldy first. Help me remember ! Mine are still too green.

After I posted the question I realized that I should have asked directly for your opinion, Emil. You certainly are an expert and that is about the answer as I remembered it. These gourds are growing on some hauled-in soil at the retirement home where I live now and I never expected them to do so well in this garden. I'm not sure that I shall even be able to harvest and prepare them but, if not, I'll try to get them to someone who appreciates these extraordinary gourds.
