Has anyone ever changed the three piece pole out on their mini castle? Maybe to a stronger one piece pole? The existing pole is not the best, and that's the system one of my pairs chose.
Not thinking about changing until next season.

I don’t have the perfect site. One open flyway with trees within 80 ft. I do have a small pond they utilize during the heat of Summer. (2017) HEAVY HAWK PREDATION

Glynn, I wish they were stronger but they are not. I've stayed with them because the poles are not real expensive to replace. I usually have spare poles and parts in the basement. Lately I have shoved pipe inside the poles to help strenghthen. So far so good. I try and drop my houses, a castle and minicastle, down to the first joint, about 5 ft. when storms are coming. That helps.
I've been able to bend the poles back somewhat straight with some help and get them back in service quickly after a storm. At least maybe get the birds thru the season and then change out the section that's bent after the season.
A heavy duty pole will be real expensive and heavy to move. And it has to be the same diameter to go up in the center of the house. A steel pole will have to be painted or it will rust. The Trio poles are galvanize so don't have to worry to much about rust.

Glynn,
Have you thought about adding 2 mini-castles to a MPP?

I have a multi purpose and yes I've thought about it. I'm so afraid of changing things for next season since this is my first year with martins. Do you think putting two on the multi pole in the same location will be okay for their arrival next season?
The idea of putting poles inside of pole might work for me?
Thanks for your responses.

Glynn, I use 3 poles. And my center yard pole is two mini castles on a mpp pole. A 2"steel pole with 8 gourds underneath! The martins love it and the mini castles and the gourds fill up first! If you plan a mpp pole for next year, keep in mind gourds underneath it, and plan using a strong pole!

I put a 1/2" black pipe 10' long inside the trio pole. Withstood 60+ MPH winds.
