Looking better in SE Ohio finally. Raised another house and opened 12 more rooms for a total of 48. No nest building yet, but lots of pairing up and working the area for bugs.... "pear"

pear -- That good news... wonderful... I just had a fly by at 7:00 PM, He didn't land but he made a lot of circles around the houses and gourd rack.

Yes, was a slow start but I have 3 pair and a bachelor ASY which have been here for about 2 weeks. Several other visitors...hoping ugly guy will find a mate. Lol. I have seen several fly-downs to ground but no serious nest building yet. Best to all..

it has been a little slow but the race seems to be on,,,,,,,I have about 25-30 pair now and growing every day. I have instructed some of my birds to go to Dave Reynold's house but they won't go. Good luck Dave, that new gourd rack should do the trick. Terry

TerryG -- Terry thanks for sending one my way. He (Subbie) landed this morning at 07:30 and stayed about 10 minutes. He came back and started checking out all the housing at 07:50. Sure hope he stays..
and brings a girl on the next visit.

Pear -

I too opened up a few extra holes - still have the back of the Trendsetter closed (8 holes). I have nest building and am a little concerned that I may have eggs (need to check on Sunday) - I had a nest with leaves last week, well ahead of all of the others birds by leaps and bounds. Interesting this was my first nest to fledge last year as well. We'll find out on Sunday when I nest check but I am rarely seeing the female in this compartment.

Just curious - I have one sparrow I am still trying to eliminate, he is a little rough from wear as I hit him once but didn't finish him off so he isn't very combatitive, but I have a bluebird pair whom I suspect are also occupying a compartment - do everyone elses martins "evict" the bluebirds?
