Found a dead pair this afternoon

We have had cold weather the last few days, and I noticed little or no activity on my castle. I lowered it and found a pair snuggled up with the males wings spread trying to keep the female warm, they had both passed. Very sad, but now maybe a young sy male will have a chance to nest in that compartment this season. I went ahead and lowered all housing and didn't find any others dead.The rest of the colony has been out feeding all day.

Im very sorry to hear that Stan. So damn sad and bad weather did that.
I hope more bords come and fill that cavity and that your weather warms up. Im down here near Austin and its been to the chilly side.

From what I have read here, this cold weather is really hurting many people and their birds.

Stan do you use the hand warmers best thing ever thought of for cold martins i put them in every evening it works 18 hour body warmer works best i have used about three cases of them Thanks Linda
