It's late here too. I've only seen one ASY pair, and they chose my neighbor's poor housing. They scouted in on the same day as last year. I've seen as many as 5 in the air, but none to land on my housing. Hopefully the next wave will hit all of us.

strange how reports were way ahead now they are trending behind and those that did see them have a slow return. Hope we see a big wave soon.

Ten day forecast here in East-Central Illinois is cold, cold, and more cold. The highs are going to have to work to get to 50 degrees. We've actually got up to 5" of snow forecast for this Sunday evening. Nature has a way of taking care of all creatures great and small. I agree with you rdharlin-MO, glad they're staying south.

My housing is ready but with no food supply they wouldn't survive. My first bird was on March 28 last year, with the scouting reports being posted it should be at least into the first week of April this year, maybe later.

I have not seen any in my area yet this year. two years ago, my first was on the 23 of March and last year it was on the 27th. I hope not to see any for at least 10 more days because of the weather. Tonight it is 23 at midnight. It is supposed to be about the same for at least 10 days so I want my little friends to just stop and smell the roses (down south) for now. It is way too dangerous for them here right now. Plus unless they like eating snow flakes, they may get hungry. I would sure try to help but it is just much better if they wait a few days.

I had a great year last year and I was full up with 20 pair which fledged well over 100 babies. I am adding some room this season to accommodate either 24 or 26 pair. That will probably be as big as I get. I am hoping some of our beginners out there get their starting pair this year.

Good luck to all this coming year
Tom
