Deb,
I always use photobucket but never had to resize a photo. Go back to your 1976 sears catalog post. Look at the photobucket link you posted. Where did you get that link? If that had a Image

birdy girl & Deb, sorry you are having difficulty posting photos. :???: Here's a snapshot of exactly what I typed into the message box to make my last post that displayed the pics.

I'm on a desktop pc using chrome browser. Internet explorer and mozilla firefox work just as well.

I am sure you have better things than to help us learn how to post pics...but I thank you guys and birdygirl for starting this. MAYBE I will figure this out BEFORE my first martins arrive any ole day and I can post my first picture without having to use photobucket. Or maybe by the time I have fledglings? LOL.

Deb all i did was open it in Paintshop Pro and resized it, you can use paint to resize too most computers have Microsoft Paint on them.

Don
I did exactly as you said in your last post. The pic will not open or appear in the post box, this area. I am using safari, MacBook, and Ipad not Microsoft. It just won't work for me.

Another thing to check, "BBCode" must be enabled. If it's disabled, the html codes won't work in a post. Under the message body, under Options BBCode should be "on" and "Disable BBCode in this post" should be unchecked.

In yr profile, preferences "Always allow BBcode" should be checked "Yes".

I posted this using Safari on a win7 pc and it works okay for posting pics. Unfortunately I don't have an Apple gadget to check it. Hope this helps.

Still doesn't work with BBcode on. Pic was made with phone. Maybe that is the problem. Still following post for any other suggestions that might work. Is anyone here using MacBook, iPad, making pics with iphone? If so, any suggestions?

But automatically put in a new post box. Guess that doesn't matter as long as it opens. Now maybe I can post future pics.

Thanks Don, Deb and to all for the help. I used the IMG selection on photo bucket and turned on BBCode in profile. Still don't know why it post in new post box.

I'm with ya, Birdygirl. I still cannot achieve success. You are right I do have the photobucket way working.

JL, I cut n pasted my image in Paint. Found the resize button and did it to the 800x600. Saved that image on my desktop. Came here to post reply. I used the browser button below to add my resized photo. When I tried to it still said I need smaller and that I have exceded my photo 1MB limit.

Someday I will figure this out. I would suggest that there must be an easier way and then I remember lots of others are able to do this function. Just must be us. :)

I think it has to be resized to 400 x 400 pixels or smaller to post directly!

You can click the "profile" button just left of "PM" button on the bottom of any of your posts, Find where it says near the bottom of that page "User Attachment Control Panel" click that and you can go delete older photos to stay within your upload limits..

Ha...Ha! That previous post was by my smart, beautiful, tech savvy daughter. Who cannot figure this out either. At least I feel better and will stick to photobucket.

Deb, that url is the link to your photobucket page and since it has a bunch of other stuff in it besides a photo, it won't display in a forum post even with the img tags on it. It doesn't work for me either.
Image

If I remove the img tags I get a clickable link that will take me to your photobucket page with the image:
http://s1071.photobucket.com/user/DebAn ... 4069010374

Then if I right click on the image I get the link to just the image without the other stuff on the page.

That one displays okay in a post if I put the img tags on it and hit the preview button. Without the img tags, it just shows up as a clickable link in the post.
