Trying to learn how to post pic from photo bucket, but it isn't working. Probably just me.
Why doesn't the link in first post open up to show pic or the pic just appear? What am I doing wrong?

I learned from his answer too! I never noticed the url address on the right side of the page. I always just clicked on it up in my browser line and cut n pasted here. Looks like you tried to cut n paste...not sure why it isn't letting us click onto it.

Yes that is the one I was trying to post. I think I am doing what I was told just don't know why it wouldn't open up when I did it.
Pic was made with iPhone don't know if that is the problem or what. About ready to give up and forget posting pics. Used to download from camera and worked better for me then.

On my thread...I had a long line of gobblegook too. It opened. Maybe try to upload another one and try it again on this thread. After all...we all love photos! Deb

Huh. I haven't been able to figure out the software to resize so my pics can be under the 800 megapixels and directly post on here. Someone recently posted the link or what it is called and I tried to find that the other day and gave up. I like the big pictures that are open as you scroll down thread.

birdy girl, try this. Find the IMG code in photobucket and click on it to copy. It should start with
:

Then paste it into your post. It should look something like this:

Then when you hit preview the image will appear in your post.

It will not open when I press preview. So frustrating. I am doing this on an ipad. Would that make a difference? Tommy, also tried copy and pasting picture but it doesn't work either. Don't know what I am not doing or doing wrong.
Ok I tried cut and paste and also copy and paste, will not open when I click on preview. I can't believe this should be this difficult.
Any more suggestions?

Louise and Tommie...I cannot copy n paste an uploaded pic that is on my computer. I have tried right clicking on the image...it gives me copy as a selection but then when I get here I don't get a paste option and CTRL + V doesn't do it either.
I tried the Img button and all I get is the above IMG's. I will keep trying it. I guess I might cry uncle and recruit my daughter to help next time she comes over.

How do I add an attachment?
You can add attachments when you make a new post. You should see a Add an Attachment form below the main posting box.
When you click the Browse... button the standard Open dialogue window will open. Browse to the photo you want to attach, select it and click OK. (Use this method for photos/images that are on your computer, not for photos stored on another site)
Depending on the size of the photo, it will either be shown directly in the post (when 400x400 pixels or smaller) or as a link which opens a new window to display your image (up to 800x800 pixels). You may upload multiple photos by following the same procedure as described above until you reach your quota limit.
Only .bmp, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, and .tif file types are allowed.
The maximum filesize for one file is 250KB.
Each user is limited to 256KB total filesize.
http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b53 ... 703ca1.jpg Here is one option, copy & paste the photo url in photobucket - notice it starts with http:// and ends with .jpg
Here is another option, copy the url, then in forum post, select Img, paste in url, hit Img again

This one works fine for me on a browser with the tags before/after the url. Sorry I don't have an ipad so I can't help you there.

Show offs. Pardon my french....but how in the hell did you do that?! JL, I cannot figure out how to resize when I am uploading it. I am sure you have better things than to help us learn how to post pics...but I thank you guys and birdygirl for starting this. MAYBE I will figure this out BEFORE my first martins arrive any ole day and I can post my first picture without having to use photobucket. Or maybe by the time I have fledglings? LOL.

Well I am trying to post pics using my laptop. No luck! Just can figure it out. I am giving up for now. Thanks to everyone for trying to help me.
Deb, just be happy you can post from photo bucket. I can't even get that to happen.
THanks again.
