I decided to cut off one foot from my poles due to wind. They were 15.5' at the peak, now they are 14.5' at the peak. Will this be ok? The bottom of the houses are 13.25'.

You will be fine my pole used to be 15 feet but like u the wind blowing across my field almost breaking my poles so I lowerd mine to 10 feet and the never skipped a beat you will be fine hope u have a wonderful year

I think you will be OK if you are in an open area. My poles are at 9' at the bottom of my gourds. House is at 10'. There are even lower ones in town. I did it due to wind concerns. I am at a top of a hill and it always seems windy.

They've been known to nest at 6/7 ft high..just harder for them to escape hawks and such..
