This site was the home of the first martins in town last season. It was leaning last year, but a drunk driver finished it off a couple weeks ago.
Notice the sparrow living in it even while crooked. Let's just say he is no longer an issue.

Ver fortunate that no purple martins were harmed by the drunk driver. Is that who took out the sparrow? LOL!

- Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.
I noticed the drunk must have gotten the stop sign too. You do good things, Dorn.

the drunk actually came through and clipped this pole.. when across a side street and ran into a beauty shop across the street.

What about it being 90 degrees out of rotation? will this confuse the returning martins ?

Should be fine Andrew, I changed mine around a few years back..didn't change a things with the martins .
