I have one male martin roosting in my Super Gourd. I went on a short vacation Thursday January 31 and returned this evening. At about 5:40 PM I walked out the back door and looked around hoping to see or hear a martin. After a short time I walked somewhat near my gourds and yelled for my dog. One adult male flew out of a gourd. He appeared to be tired, as if I had woke him up. He did not make any noises and was not in a hurry, so I was sure I had not scared him. He immediately starting feeding and circling above. At about 5:53 PM he flew in one of the gourds and stayed.

I assume he arrived Saturday. My son checked to see if one roosted Friday and did not see anything. He said he thought he heard one saturday but could not find him. He did not see one come in for the roost but he does not keep a close watch and it only takes a few seconds to fly in once they decide too.
