they used to be on there, but I know EVRA had a production shut down this past summer and PMCA pulled them to avoid orders during that time. ERVA had them up for order now, so I assume the shut down is over.

Thanks for asking - webmaster is update the Trio products. We pulled most housing during the production shut-down. Glad to have them back again.

I love trios, i have 3, 12 room houses, 80 precent occupied,--- until this yr, - i live in Iowa, last summer was brutal, heat into the 90s for 3 months.
unless you vent the sides on all 4 places of the house, it wont be good if you have alot of heat. your babies will be( JUMPING) prematurly, results in loss of colony. im working on mine where ive taken out the center, and made one room out of two, so ive got 6 big rooms instead of 12. , more ventilation.
imagin being in a 6x6 metal room at 90 degrees for a week or more, you would jump to. im not sure if they make a house that looks like a 12 room, only to have 6, but i know i had birds jumping last yr and lost alot, because of the heat, so , ive modifyed mine with one inch luverd vents--& 3/4 plastic elbows, and taken out the center for more air.i also put the vents and elbows on my gourds, i put a vent in the center in the back of the gourd and two elbows obove that to each side attached with gromets, and caulking. ive learned-- the hard way

Great idea expanding the compartments. I had 4 nests raised and fledge right in the middle of the heat wave. I would have to bring it up to see, but I would guess that 15 out of 20 days were over 100 during that time. I only lost 1 baby. I used expanded trio's and believe that is what protected them.pmcharter1 wrote:I love trios, i have 3, 12 room houses, 80 precent occupied,--- until this yr, - i live in Iowa, last summer was brutal, heat into the 90s for 3 months.

I also wanted to add that new trios now come with removable center hole covers and can easily be xpanded to 6 big compartments.

dorn,
glad you spoke of the 6 room trio, i never new they had one , ive been so busy modifying a gourd design, i havent looked.im sure in some states , the 12 room house will work, depending on temps.but last yr in the midwest , was brutle, yrs past i had the 12 room house with alot of success, untill the heat.Im in the works of taking one of my trios, taking off the rails, and replacing my doors with troyer tunnels with the anti wing entrapment, with the conely 2 enterence.so . on one side-- bottom floor, ill have on the outsides,, the new tunnels, top row center, ill have a tunnel., other side, ill have the opposite, tunnels onthe top left and right and one in the center on the bottom.i went to mennards and bought 1 inch luvered vents and 1/2 inch pvc elbows to vent the sides. im thinking if just using a circle saw and cutting 4 holes two on each side of the house to help with the venting , and use the luvered vents, as i can use the elbows on the gourds., i will caulk the vents in with lexlar, or somthing, but, by modifying this house, it will save some birds. yes call me crazy, i have 8 supers im modifying with the same tunnel and venting the backs with the luvered vent, and two elbows above that,on each side , in the house, yes, my family thinks im nuts! , but they love our martins so they tolerate my work.

I may have stated that poorly. It was a 12 room that I call a 6 room when the center holes are removed. More of a 2 room condo, but I call it one room.pmcharter1 wrote:dorn,

i modified my 4 trio's too prevent porch domanation by adding tunnels too the opposite ends of the houses and stagering the holes on each side floor; i now have a porch for just 1 pair and ending up with 5 enlarged compartments plus room for a spar-a-door;;jr2;
