Is this a normal arrival?? I've been watching each arrival and noticed just about all are 2 weeks earlier than last years report?

It's an interesting start to the season—what caught my attention was the fact that arrivals have been so steady. Most years, we'll have one or two arrivals, then wait 10-14 days for more reports.
Until later on this season, we won't be able to look at early and late arrivals and see how they average out, but my bet is that it will average out to what we call normal.

LC.. what are the trends of number of reporters? More reporters would produce more arrivals.

That data is easy to view, click on any year, and the total number of adult and subadult reports are right there. Numbers have been increasing, which is great - last few years we have 3500 asy reports and close to 500 sy reports. Go back to 2006, it's about 2400 adult reports.

More reporters in that we are receiving more reports than we did years ago. The number of scout reports is not connected to the forum, or to how many martins are out there - it's more about promoting the scout arrival study and getting people to keep track of when their first martins arrive.
