Coates watersedge suite question

Hello i have a question. I have a coates watersedge suite with crescent hole entrances and three super gourds hanging underneath. Also i have a 12 hole house bought from walmart which i made entrances and changed to 5 holes. It is a cheap house but the martins have nested in it for the last two years. The coates house and gourds i added this year with no nesting but a lot of lookers. I just bought another coates house and three gourds hanging underneath. Is it alright to put this in my backyard because my other houses are in my front yard and there is more space in my backyard now that we took out a tree. So is having houses and gourds in the front and one house with gourds in the back is ok?

Housing does not have to be closely grouped.

that said, martins may fill up the old one first early in the season before moving to the other; or they may first choose whichever is more open. But they often tend to favor one or the other even when houses are side by side.

i have 2 trio in front yard that had 2 pair last year and added 2 trio in back yard this year;;i had 2 pair in front yard and 5 pair in back yard this year;; i think the back yard is probably more open;;;;jr2
