if there are night time fireworks going off within a couple hundred feet of a martin house, are there any issues?

- Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas
No problem with fireworks. Many are used on the street in front of our house, and it doesn't seem to bother the martins. The street is about 200 to 250ft from the housing. However, many of our martins are gone by the 4th..
Its another thing with a couple of our dogs, they plead to come into the house, and then crawl under the beds or hide in the closet if they can find an open door.

It should not be a problem - PMCA's site on Edinboro Lake was scene of annual community fireworks (well not right under the houses but close by
) and it did not bother the birds as far as we knew.
Then we added a nest cam - here are notes from 4th of July nest cam observations: http://www.purplemartin.org/main/gourdcam_july2001.html

I wouldn't think fireworks would be a big issue this year with burn bans in place (looks like Kansas has many county burn bans in place, not exactly sure where you are). In Arkansas, I think all but 3 counties are under burn bans, fireworks included of course.
2010: two pair nested, 1 bird fledged.
2011: starlings/sparrows destroyed nests. I shut down the house early to save PM lives.
2012: new T-14 with SREH, & a Beeman R7. Four fledged this year.
2013: Destroyed many house sparrows, but fledged 21 PM's!
