Solar-powered LED lights for predator protection?

Researching another thing got me to a comment on the Internet about a solar-powered LED flashing light predator guard being used to protect a chicken coop. I did a few more searches on it and it is being touted to keep all but snakes away from pets, birdhouses, livestock and property. Anyone have experience with it? Good, bad or indifferent?

I think they do work but it's very important to aim the light directly at what your trying to protect so the bright red flash is in the predators eyes. If it's at an angle it might not bother a predator. I have them, if I angle the light directly it looks like an explosion of red light but if I stand off to the side the light becomes weaker.

I’m trying them for the first time this year BUT they are in addition to my Excluder owl guards, tunneled gourds and pole guards. I have four units mounted to a small square piece of metal tubing. This way the blinking red light is seen in all directions, north, south, east & west. It is attached to the top of the gourd racks. I’m hoping to prevent owls from being attracted to my colony; thinking offence is better then defense.

Sounds promising. Thanks for replying. I'll try to remember I posted this and see if you still have confidence in it at the end of the season. The price point is pretty good to add to the collection.

I remember Emil posted that he tried several different methods using the lights but they proved unsuccessful for him.
