I was sitting on the bed looking out the window and noticed my two resident Barn Swallows perched on the covered patio enjoying the sun, so I grabbed the camera and went outside hoping they would pose for me and they did.

They are use to me sitting under them all the time watching the Martins so I was able to get about 10 feet from them.

Enjoy.

Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

Amazing color on these beautiful little birds -- and so stylish!!

Thank you for capturing them for us...
Sincerely,
Laverne

If I had to guess I'd say the camera used was a Canon SX40.
