Strange, very strange......first I'm overwhelmed with HOSP catching about 5 to 8 a week in the repeater, but for the past week after I cleaned out the last HOSP nest from one of the gourds, I haven't seen one anywhere around the area even in the park they are gone, just gone.

bummer is I was gearing up to shoot them and after seeing a you tube video of a hunter dropping a wild bore with this high powered pellet rifle, I had to have it! SO....... I bought a Benjamin Maraurder .22 with scope and Air Venturi 88cf 4500 psi Carbon Fiber tank to fill it. BIG Bucks!

Good news is I now have 100% occupancy with Martins.

If the HOSP don't come back i'll be hunting them down...OH and Starlings, I'm comming for you too.

Chris you will absolutely love your new air rifle. You'll see I've recommended the marauder to anyone who asks. Lots of good info on the web about the marauder. Nice tank set up as well. I have two older tanks I use in a cascading set up to be more "air efficient". Remember though your highest pressure is rarely your most accurate as well. My marauder really likes the ballistic tip pellets the best. But all rifles are different. I'm sure you'll find what works best for your rifle. I do recommend a de-pinger at some time. Even as quiet as the marauder is this still makes a difference in the sound. I've shot starlings and hosps before while the others sat and watched until their turn to be dispatched because of the quietness of this rifle. The smack of the pellet hitting the bird is louder and is usually what frightens them away.
Your going to wonder how you ever got by without a marauder. Enjoy.

What scope did you use and what distance do you have it zero in. I have a Beeman R9, I realy like it but like what I am reading about your gun, may need to add another gun to my collection. Any other info you would like to share? I'm all ears!
Thanks Don

Here is what I bought after watching this one used to drop a 100lb wild bore at 40 yards with a .25 cal pellet:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUEwxg32s6Y

1. Benjamin Marauder .22 cal, rifle,

2. Leapers UTG 4-16x44AO SWAT AccuShot Rifle Scope, EZ-TAP,
Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 30mm Tube, See-Thru Weaver Rings,

4. Leapers Accushot SWAT Side Wheel For Range Estimation, 80 mm

5. Air Venturi Carbon Fiber Scuba Tank, 4500 psi, 88 cu ft for fast fill.

Factory setup and Zero in at 20 yards

I'll update this thread with photo's next week.

S&S has no chance of survival when they enter my yard anymore!
