Martin Colony History: 2018 - Had 44 pairs and put out 100+ babies. 3-Super System 24’s. 2019 - Had 48 pairs

Have Bluebird babies and a pair of Tree Swallows with eggs within 35' of my Super System 24. Have been playing the dawnsong from 4:30am-7:00pm. (40 watt amp & powerhorn) Had a ASY male come by for 2 days last week for about an hour. Still hoping I will get some new birds in the coming weeks. This will be my second year trying.

sounds like you are doing everything right..

Blue birds and Tree swallows are fun too.

I feel you! I don't think central va is seeing much action yet especially with the sub adults. I'm still waiting at my location, I havnt even seen a visitor at my site yet this year. Good luck, sounds like you are doing everything you can, its just up to them at this point!
2nd Year trying to attract martins! Wish me luck!

The SYs are still coming in, you have all of this month and maybe part of next month. Hope you pick up several pair.

Martin Colony History: Had a colony many years ago which dwindled over a couple of years and then did not return. Kept trying each year for almost 20 years and finally had a small success in 2011 with two pairs nesting. Colony has grown slowly each year with 22 pairs in 2015. In 2016 my gourd rack of 18 gourds filled up so I added 4 more gourds and then put up a small rack of 6 gourds. All of those were claimed within a few days so I believe I have at least 25 pairs this year.

Hang in there Mark. I wish I knew why those birds visit for a few days and then disappear as my one ASY male has done the same. He was here everyday for two weeks and now I have not seen him in a week. Hopefully we may see some SY arrivals before long. Best of Luck!

Hang in there Mark. Hard work to improve your site and patience pays off. Last year I had some visitors. So far this year, I am up to twelve spending the nights and building nest. Best of luck to you.
