Thanks to hearing from Claudia and Dave regarding our house crashing yesterday, we have temporarily fixed the problem. Got a longer board, attached to the old fence rail, and were able to raise the house. Not quite as high as before but at least they are back home. I suppose we need to just let them deal with this house this year and get a new one next year. We put another one up a couple of years ago, but they like the old one. Do yall think we should leave it as is and hope for the best. Any advice is welcome. Thanks to all that "felt our pain".

Glad that you have a temporary fix now. If I had nesting martins I would leave it as is for the season and then next season put up a new one.
2nd Year trying to attract martins! Wish me luck!

As long as it's usable and safe and keeps the birds out of the weather, I would leave it propped up on a board and redo after birds fledge.
