Well I got my lazy butt up and put together three signs for my backyard as part of the meet up we will be having March 24th. Cant wait!
Almost looks like the signs are mounted on the pole but they are mounted on a 1x3 and mounted to the fence (Notice the HOSP had to get in on the picture too....top picture, bottom right gourd)

I registered my site with the National Wildlife Federation for a $30 donation, gave them the details for the requirements needed to get certified, I got the metal sign, and Wall mounted Certificate for my photo room. You can get the other signs from the PMCA Store which I have had alot of people passing by in the park say they really like the setup because it lets people know what type of birds we supply the housing for.
I certified the site to protect my Martins so incase they ever put in a Home owners association and someone doesn't like the housing they might not be able to force me to remove it without a good fight.

Great site & signage!!!
Noticed you have your hummingbird feeder up as well...have you seen any yet? I was just thinking I need to get my feeders up because I usually get Black Chins about 2 weeks before I start seeing Rubies...it's about that time!
Take Care!!

I just leave them up all year because I have some beautiful House Finches that drink from them too. I have several HB feeders around the yard.

Chris, I love your sanctuary!
I bet it is hard to pull you out from under that porch!
I like seeing the other view of where your Barnies live. I have been trying to get them to nest under the eaves of every small building I own. I have put up 4 of the wooden nest cups, smeared them with mud, mounted them at the recommended height. Either they haven't found them,or they don't like the set-up. I do see them in my yard getting mud from my pot-belly pig waller, but they are well established in my neighbors barns.
I am trying to buy a property with a small cattle barn, if I get it, I will try to get Barnies in there.

I spend hours every day on this patio watching all the wildlife in the park and my martins. The Barn Swallows got use to me they even built their house above the door which was a mess, They would fly in and out all day with me sitting right under them. The picture in the Barn Swallow thread was taken with my Cell phone just looking up at them. They have moved their nest up between the house eve's and patio roof where it's a little cubby hole for them, but still come and sit with me which is kewl. This year I will try to get my baby martins to fly over and land on me and take food from my hand,

Very nice looking setup. I spend lots of hours in the evening looking out over my colony from the deck as well... of course I don't have any tv though....
