A worker emailed me that a martin has landed at Cahokia Mounds public site in Illinois, near St. Louis...Dennis D of Illinois and I manage it..Dennis will go to the site soon and confirm. So this colony of 18 pairs last year has beat the scattered colonies of 60 pairs in Forest Park, St. Louis...still watching the empty skies here.

Maybe yours will be home later today, John, or tomorrow. But great news they have returned to Cahokia Mound site - the Birdman is smiling!
Good luck John with the new season. I feel it's going to be a good one. I bet those St. Louis birds will be back in a day or so.
Maybe we will see you again at the next Mo. Bluebird Conferance in Jeff City. I think we might try and go to that.

I put up four BB houses Monday at Hidden Valley Ski Area near St. Louis -- I'm in! (grin). also help with martins there.
I add bb houses it in part because of something Steve Kroenke told me once about satellite sites -- you can only stand and look at martins so long - ha.

That's funny John. Makes sense to me. I got somewhat busy this winter and built the North Star martin house plus a boatload of bb houses, Peterson and slots. I installed 14 on the farm. With the 7 I already have around my house, I thought I would keep good records like I do with the martins, check every 5-7 days and write down what I see and send info to MOBS at end of year. Maybe if I walk the trail I'll lose some weight, ha ha, right.

Hi John
Good to see your report, I'm sure they will be in stl soon. I have been with 3 females since the 11th, 1 male was here but did not stay. (or has not came back) Lev
