She has been here since the 5th and still no friends! She has been scarce most days but Tuesday I was doing some gourd work and she flew over and we talked.

It has always amazed me that I can go outside under the racks and it's less than a minute for a bird to come see what I am doing. I guess they are perched somewhere close or flying high.

Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas

Peggy, we got a large number of martins in the last 2 or 3 days so maybe she will find a friend. I too noticed that as soon as I lower a gourd rack, about a dozen martins come to watch! They sure are curious.

Peggy my site has increased today . Unfortunately I didn't see them but the wife said she saw 4 or 5 martins at my site this evening.
I haven't seen my lonely girl for 3 days now.
I guess she's been hangin' out with these other characters.
I hope they're nice martins. They better be if they want to hang around here!!

Update! Yesterday at noon she came back with a male! A 6:00 she was feeding with 3 males. They all came to bed down.

Things should really pick up for everyone soon!

Great news! She's no longer lonely!!!
Hopefully, we will continue to get rain occasionally so the PMs will have plenty of food this year!
Have a great season!
Take care, Lila

Yeah Peggy glad she is not alone anymore. Maybe you will have more by next week.
Just in the last week I have had 12 more arrive, they have been singing and pairing up and fighting for spots already. I cannot believe it. I don't think I have ever had this many by February 17.
Hope you have and great year!
