,,,other than I saw this while sitting on my deck watching my martins. I get a rare glimpse of nature on occasion that I find interesting. As I was counting my martins, I noticed out of the corner of my eye a dark image scurrying about on the pond shore. An egret ran over, speared it, smashed it on the ground, held it in the water, and finally devoured it

On a brighter note, martins seem to be doing better with the rain that has stimulated the bug population. They are not so interested in scrambled eggs.

Hope this rain has helped you South Coast folks out with your landlording!
