Anybody know of any Martin keepers in Joplin?
I sure hope not though Im sure this would be the least of their worries and they would have no way to communicate on the forum. That place was hit very hard. That place just got rocked by a horrific tornado. Close to 100 dead. It swathed right through the center of Joplin, Missouri.
2008~(1st yr) 4 pairs, 11 to 12 fledged
2009~(2nd yr) 9 pairs, 41 fledged
2010~(3rd year) 11 pairs. 50 fledged
2011~(4th year) 20 pairs, 23 out of 23 gourds Martin occupied, 3 fledged, the rest died in the drought. (1 new Blue Bird, 3 BB fledged.)
2012~ 26 pairs, approx. 100-110 fledged

The pictures coming out of Joplin are unbelievable. The tornado hit right in the middle of town. I live in south central Missouri and our cell phone service is out as a result of the storms. I will be keeping the people of Joplin and all of the responders and health care workers in my prayers.

As a long-time participant here, I
know we have a few, but maybe no frequent posters. Daryl Sparlin from Webb City is great landlord in Web City (part of Joplin), but hasn't posted in awhile. I hope he's okay.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Joplin, and all being hit by natural disasters this year.

Ditto on all said here. I have 3 drivers in Joplin - all came out alive as did their families - one with some serious property damage, and another's family member lost everything. I've already heard reports of death toll now up in the 120s. The stories coming out of there, especially with a major hospital literally shredded, are devastating.
