I had two looky loos visit my gourds a few days ago but haven't seen them since. One was an adult male, the other was either a female or a subadult male. Will they be back? They took quite an interest in the rack of gourds, entering at least one of the gourds before flying away. What can I expect?
Life is measured not by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breaths away.

- Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.
What, Johnny? Had you never heard of a "looky loo"?
Hi Deep Purple! Congratulations on your visit. As Gobbler T indicates - you can expect to spend a lot of time "looking" back.
Could be that you can expect nesting, eggs, hatchlings, and fledglings...
Let us know what actually happens and good luck. Best wishes to you for a forever Deep Purple Colony.
Sincerely,
Laverne

Good luck to you, as Tony says (he knows better than anyone) be prepared to look out all day every day, keep the aspirin around for the neck pain.

- Martin Colony History: Had my site up to 22 gourds of which most (+/-3) stayed occupied.
Downsized to 17 gourds due to back surgeries. Had 14 families in 2017 but did not do nest checks due to health. Feeling better in 2018 and hoping for a good year.
So true, looking all day. How does anyone get anything done during the season? I can't make myself go inside and do anything I am so scared I am going to miss something!! Everyone knows I am the proud landlord of three pairs. And I mean EVERYBODY
My family, my neighbors, my friends, the mail lady, the newspaper deliverer,UPS, the little boy riding his bike on my street........
We are so blessed to be given this looking glass into the wonderful world of nature.

Connie,
That is so funny! Maybe you should take some pictures of the martin babies and add them to your wallet to show along with kids, family etc....
Thanks for the laugh,
Melissa

Melissa,
Don't go giving me any ideas.
I would take some pictures but I would have to go inside to get my camera, LOL.
