:-( I have often seen a martin by this time, but have not seen any. The state is all purple. NOT HERE! I hope they will show sometimes this year.

Don't give up. It just takes one pair to start a colony even in places where it is hard to get martins. Isn't it still early where you are?

I feel your pain James. Martins in TN, AR, NC, SC,& OK all ready. I'm like you, I haven't even seen one! Or heard one!

Maybe this will be our year. Keep the good faith!

James,

It is still very early in the season; our martins also arrived later this year and at this time we have less than the years prior. Do not give up hope and just keep visualizing how the first martin will arrive!!!!
Love it or leave it~~~Astrid :-)

Martin Colony History: I moved to South Florida, from Delaware, in August of 2015.

I care for a 6 condo Sunset House as well as two Deluxe Gourd Racks, with 24 Chirpynest/Excluder gourds, along a canal in Pompano Beach, Florida.

At Quiet Waters Park, nearby in Deerfield Beach, I care for a Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 TVG's. I also care for a Deluxe Gourd rack with 12 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder entrances. I am substituting 6 Chirpynest boxes for 6 of the Conley II entranced gourds in 2026.

At another local park, Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, I care for a Trendsetter 12, 5 gourds rack with 60 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder Entrances and 1 Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 Troyer Vertical Gourds with Starling Stoppers over the Conley II's to keep out smaller starlings.

I have not seen or heard any martins at any of my three South FL sites yet, James. Of course the SY's have not even entered FL yet.
