I had the pleasure of meeting this amazing man a few years ago when I visited Martin fest . His picture is hung in my woodwork shop still today. It is from the front page of the local news paper, I framed it and hung it on the wall when I returned home. I will never forget when I met him and introduced myself, Devere Sturm had donated a North Star house to the Martin fest for a door prize. He gave me a ride on his golf cart to show it to me. He was so easy and interesting to talk to, his love for Martins, and for people was so evident. Boy am I ever happy I made that trip to Finger Tennessee now. Rest in peace Victor, all though I think it may be a bit noisy with all the Martins singing above you.

I am forever grateful having met Mr. Stoll. It was because of his advice I have Purple Martins today. I will keep him in my prayers.
