I entered a simple snapshot of Purple Martin hatchlings in an international photo competition last month. Please share in my excitement of having been among the top 8 winners in over 600 wildlife photo entries from all over the world. See my photo and the other medal winners at:

Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas

Congrats on the beautiful photo, and its such a great honor. It also shows how special our martins are, and how nice it is to be able to provide good housing for them while we enjoy them.

That's great. Congratulations. I bet you are the only one who took their photo in their backyard.
