Want to thank all of you who have advised the use of sevin dust. Had horrible experiences the past three years with mites. Lost some babies, had to make numerous nest changes, disinfected gourds to start over with new materials, all while the birds were circling above. Special thanks to Birdie Girl, CraigMo, Indiana_Tom, Emil, Tim and many others whose posts about the use of Sevin Dust has helped us this year to be MITE-FREE !!!!.
Sorry, to not have thanked many other contributors by name. But, it shows just how important the Forum is with helping new landlords become more successful.
By the way, I've got a cute little clip of some of our soon-to-be-fledges hanging out the doorway getting food from Mom at our website.

I am so glad the sevin worked well to rid your colony of mites. We have used sevin many times this year and it does work well. I hope you have a very successful season this year and many more to come. Great picture of the babies waiting for food.
