I don't know what to do. Before we left town for the weekend I cleaned out the sparrow nests from my house and put it back up. The wrong way. Backwards somehow and didn't realize it. Now I got home and realized what I had done. I turned it back right, but I could tell some of the martins had switched cavities. What do I do? I'm so mad at myself! I don't think I could put it back wrong like I had it over the weekend because I'm not positive what I had even done.

Edited to add, I turned it around to how it has been all weekend when I realized there was only one backwards way it could go on the pole. I hope I haven't really ruined things.

Sorry Lucy I really don't know the answer but I think you did the right thing by putting it back in its original position. Hopefully some more experienced landlord can help you

I care for a 6 condo Sunset House as well as two Deluxe Gourd Racks, with 24 Chirpynest/Excluder gourds, along a canal in Pompano Beach, Florida.

At Quiet Waters Park, nearby in Deerfield Beach, I care for a Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 TVG's. I also care for a Deluxe Gourd rack with 12 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder entrances. I am substituting 6 Chirpynest boxes for 6 of the Conley II entranced gourds in 2026.

At another local park, Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, I care for a Trendsetter 12, 5 gourds rack with 60 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder Entrances and 1 Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 Troyer Vertical Gourds with Starling Stoppers over the Conley II's to keep out smaller starlings.

Hopefully it will be okay. Had they already made nests or maybe laid eggs?

There were definitely nests, but as far as I had seen, no eggs. They had put mud up next to the doorways, so I hadn't wanted to open the doors to really get a good look in case it destroyed their work, so there could have been eggs I hadn't been able to see.

I see.

Hopefully, things will be just fine.
