The ground stake is steele and it is filled with concrete.

Thanks for the tip and I will certainly give that a try this afternoon.
I was glad to hear that seveal of you just used your existing ground stakes with the concrete still attached. If I am unable to get the concrete broken off, that is probably what I will do.

Had to get back with you. I went out and tried hitting the "ground stake" with the sledge hammer vs. the concrete per your suggestion. On the third hit a big chunk of concrete fell off from the top. I continued working my way down hitting the ground stake each time and after about three or four hits another chunk would fall off. I would guess it took hitting the "ground stake" about 30 times to get it all off. Thank you for the tip and it really works.
