I just witnessed a red tailed hawk attacking my birds, he had gotten stuck on a gourd and had allready gottin one bird and killed two in the entrance, as i lowered the gourd rack he managed to free him self flying off with the one bird.
After removing the 2 from the entrance 6 more came out of the same gourd.
I have never seen a red tailed hawk attack the PMs before and the only thing I can think of is the cold weather is making the pm slow and easy to attack.

Red Tailed hawks have entered my pigeon loft several times over the years. They are opportunistic feeders and will eat just about anything from snakes to small dogs. I squirted the ones in my loft with the water hose until they left. It was the only way I could think of to get them out. Didn't appear to be frightened of me at all. Don't even think of killing it. That could get very expensive very quickly. Its illegal. Save your money and buy more martin houses!
