I live too far south to have any TRES but am wondering if those of you who have them know if they will tolerate a sparrow spooker?
We put them on the BB houses after they lay the first egg, they seem to work quite well.
You can find more info on sialis.org and you can buy commercially from Uncle Blaine, but I made mine and they seem to work just fine. I've only ever heard of a very few cases where BB were attacked when there was a spooker in place.

I have every one of my Sparrow Spookers in place and only one is protecting bluebirds. I have several fledged nests of tree swallows and two just starting. I'll easily fledge more than 60. Sparrow Spookers saved every nest this year and last. Controlling HOSP is critical, too. They killed an adult bluebird and an adult tree swallow trapped in boxes this year before nests were finished.
It takes them about ten minutes to get used to one and then they seem to enjoy them.

I put the spookers up when I clean out the boxes in the spring. Not only are the swallows not bothered, I have watched them pull pieces off and incorporate them in their nests. I have had 10 fledge this year and 5 BB's about 1 week from fledging. And no hosp.
