I had a scout last Sunday the 15th.

Today 4 PM hung out all day.

Hope they are permanent and not just passing thru.

I am in 78250 area, had 3 on the 19th and 3 more the 20th. They have been flying together now all around the area so pretty sure here to stay.

Had a snow goose flying around my martin house today. Can't figure out if it will stay or not since the penguins and arctic turns have moved in. The reindeer have crapped all over my yard and Old Man Winter is using the top floor of my martin house as the penthouse suite. I am re-naming my martin houses. I am going to refer to them from now on as chalets. And I am so sick of cold weather and snow I could cry. Oh, gotta go again. That damn polar bear is skating in my garage again. In a land fit only for well diggers and witches I'm out.

HI Meem, I am just north of you at 1604/Guilbeau Rd. Need to dust off the binoculars to see who is really staying. My goal each year is to snag a few PM's before they get a taste of the sweet life in Helotes :)

Hello to all the San Antonio area landlords. It is great to hear that you are all doing well this year. Sheryle and I lived at Braun and 1604 seven years ago and had around 25 pair when we moved. We took down the houses because we didn't think that the new owners would care for the Martins. There is a slum lord behind the day care at Braun and Alisa Brooke that we couldn't convert. Our 1st Martin showed up on the 10th of Feb this year; around 4 days early. Today I counted 14 outside and 11 stayed the night yesterday. We hope that the season goes well for everyone.

Well Ken I just don't see how I ever got any with you less than a mile as a PM glides. One thing I noticed last year, maybe year prior, they have been coming in earlier. Must be the global warming thing.
Have you noticed the house that backs up to strip center, main intersection in Helotes. Looks like a great place with elec. wire for perching and many gourds. Needs a little clean up but so do mine.
