We're doing well....enjoying this cool weather.
I hope that you also are ready. Maybe yours will arrive first! :)

I just placed my order for an expandable six gourd rack with six crescent entrance excluder gourds....added a predator guard for good measure.
I'd like to have more pms this year, hopefully the gourds will help.

Stingray, I am sure you will like your new expandable gourd rack. I have one and it is a very well made unit and looks good too. :)
PMCA member and Martin fanatic....
2011 A pair of subbies fledged three young but none returned in 2012 :-(
2015 One Pair of subbies came and stayed a few nits but got chased away by Bluebirds and Tree swallows. :-(
2017 0ne pair of subbies nested and fledged 4 young
2018 Tree Swallows AGAIN chased away any martins that wanted to nest
2019 Same old story................ :-(

Thanks for the encouraging words Donnie.
Good to hear your feedback! I'm looking forward to setting it up.
I'm just a rookie at this.

After four years of attracting only one pair per season, I want to try something different.
Hence, the enlargement of my coates compartments and starter gourd system.
I look forward to having a nice colony.

Best to you! :)

Hey Southern Landlords !!

Keep this stuff coming !! I'm up in Kentucky, and usually see my first martins in late March. This REALLY extends my "martin season", and also makes me " GET IT IN GEAR" to make sure I'm ready.

It's fun when somebody at work will tease me and ask if I have any martins yet. I say "No", but it is fun to see the look on their face when I say that one of my friends do..... In FL, LA, TX..... Ha Ha !!

 Since our martins come a different way than the ones that hit the west and central areas of florida. We have started getting them to move into our neck of the woods now. Hopefully more will start coming north from Miami in Dade County in to Broward County and the Ft. Lauderdale area. Looking to the skies.

 One of my student whom has been here for 3 years informed me that the martin house behind his house had a martin sitting on it yesterday. I teach in Miami. He has let me know about them for the past 3 years. This is always great news for me and I look forward to it each year from him.

Well i had 2 Scouts show up this morning, I'm not sure if they were my birds but they did stick around for a few minutes. A male ASY and a female ASY to be exact, I'm expecting them back this afternoon. You guys up in the Oakland area, be looking out for scouts when you're outside.

At about 10 AM this morning my wife and I saw three pms flying just north of our home.
They were feeding and did not come close to my site, but hopefully soon!

James,
Hopefully, they'll visit you real soon!!
At least now we know they are in our 'backyards"....well sorta.

I know that if wishes could bring them to our sites, we'd all have a heap of 'em. :)

Good luck to you!

:-( From todays date we are 20 sightings behind from this time last year. I hope that they start pouring in to south fl soon. How are the other states doing?

Hey James, don't worry about that some years the statistics don't actually point to actual real world numbers, at least on a local level. Those 2 birds i told you about 4 days ago are actually my birds and they have been staying since, they come in late 6:00pm +. I'm sure this is going to be your year.
