I made two of the natural gourds into martin housing. They are 15 inch gourds. One of them fledged five young last year. Notice they have no porches and Clinger entrances.
I raised the porches of the Troyer Horizontals almost to the bottom of the Conley entrances.
The entrances for all but one of the gourds are plugged to keep out TS and HS until the martins return. Hope to see them in a week or so.

I care for a 6 condo Sunset House as well as two Deluxe Gourd Racks, with 24 Chirpynest/Excluder gourds, along a canal in Pompano Beach, Florida.
At Quiet Waters Park, nearby in Deerfield Beach, I care for a Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 TVG's. I also care for a Deluxe Gourd rack with 12 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder entrances. I am substituting 6 Chirpynest boxes for 6 of the Conley II entranced gourds in 2026.
At another local park, Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, I care for a Trendsetter 12, 5 gourds rack with 60 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder Entrances and 1 Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 Troyer Vertical Gourds with Starling Stoppers over the Conley II's to keep out smaller starlings.

Carl,
You got a nice set up there and I wish you the best for this coming martin season. Looking forward to more pictures and your reports of your returning babies

Love it or leave it~~~Astrid :-)
Looks like your ready Carl but not after that dip in the 20's to make you feel at home. On the way home I passed a large group of tree swallows cruising across a dormant field but no signs of any PMs in the nearby colonies. Hope all yours make it in soon.

THANKS Everyone!
I am looking out at the three poles as I sit here at the computer. Hope to see a weary traveller arrive any day now. HOPE. HOPE.

Looks great Carlton
If those gourds are 15" (I am assuming diameter), do you know what variety they are? I'm going to grow some gourds this year, and would love to have seeds for gourds that large.

Those are kettle gourds Lilyrose. I purchased them online and paid a little extra for the extra large size ones.
