About 2 pm on February 17,a black male came and then only about two hours later, and adult female sailed in to the delight of the male.
It was on Tuesday , that another female arrived.. On Thursday evening I counted 9 martins ..this is not good..the cold is moving in and out so with sunny weather predicted we have hopes that we will be able to save them all.with out hand feeding them..

You all; have a great season’. Victor Stoll

Martin Colony History: I moved to South Florida, from Delaware, in August of 2015.

I care for a 6 condo Sunset House as well as two Deluxe Gourd Racks, with 24 Chirpynest/Excluder gourds, along a canal in Pompano Beach, Florida.

At Quiet Waters Park, nearby in Deerfield Beach, I care for a Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 TVG's. I also care for a Deluxe Gourd rack with 12 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder entrances. I am substituting 6 Chirpynest boxes for 6 of the Conley II entranced gourds in 2026.

At another local park, Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, I care for a Trendsetter 12, 5 gourds rack with 60 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder Entrances and 1 Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 Troyer Vertical Gourds with Starling Stoppers over the Conley II's to keep out smaller starlings.

Good luck! I hate it when the martins return so early they have to survive cold spells. Last year we had snow when the martins were arriving in DE. It was disgusting.

Victor, It's amazing that martins have gotten so far north already. I know it will be cold here tonight and MUCH colder where you are. Congratulations and take care of those babies!

Victor:

Nice to hear from you and hope you and your family are doing well. Was talking to Kent Justus this week and he stated MartinFest was set for June 20 & 21. I saw first hand last year just how much work is involved by you, your family and Kent to host this event each year and of course it is much appreciated.

Hope you have a great season.
